Dr. Sarah Nadeem appointed Vice Chair of the Diabetes Disease State Network for 2026

Dr. Sarah Nadeem [MBBS, ’02] has been appointed Vice Chair of the Diabetes Disease State Network for the 2026 Association Year by the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology. In this leadership role, Dr. Nadeem will help guide national initiatives focused on advancing evidence-based diabetes care, education, and clinical best practices. Her appointment reflects her expertise in endocrinology and her continued commitment to improving outcomes for patients living with diabetes.

Dr. Nadeem, MD, FACE is faculty at Baylor College of Medicine and Staff Physician at Michael E DeBakey VA Medical Center, Houston, TX. A graduate of Aga Khan University, she completed her Internal Medicine Residency at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, Michigan followed by fellowship training in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota.

She has extensive National and International clinical experience having worked in multi specialty group practice and large academic medical centers. Dr. Nadeem was founding Director, CITRIC Center for Clinical Best Practices at Aga Khan University Hospital, where she established a collaboration with GRADE for development of evidence based guidelines.

The American Association of Clinical Endocrinology inducted Dr. Nadeem as a Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology in 2015, an honor recognizing achievement and leadership in the field of clinical endocrinology.

She is active in multiple endocrine scientific societies, being the current Chair of the AACE MENA annual scientific conference advisory board, member Education Oversight Committee, member leader at Endocrine Society, and currently serving a 3 year term as member Research Affairs Core Committee, having previously served in the Committee for Diversity and Inclusion.

Dr. Nadeem is passionate about teaching, public education and awareness of Endocrine issues, particularly Diabetes and Metabolism. She is regarded as a subject matter expert in endocrinology and is frequently featured in public media.
